Carol's Gaslight quilt

At 2014 Quilt Market, local designer Jessica VanDenburgh debuted a new line of beautiful, modern patterns. Her Gaslight pattern is one of my favorites.

 

This beautiful quilt was made by Carol. I *love* the colors she chose. When I first saw this quilt, I knew I wanted to put some sort of design behind all the gaslights. I drew all sorts of shapes before Carol and I settled on this tile effect. Jessica thinks it looks Morrocan.

 

I found a path that let me do all the tiles between a line of gaslights in one fell swoop. Added some feathers and pebbles to the gaslights and it's done. I hope to make this quilt one day, so thanks for letting me practice on your quilt Carol!

Paula's quilts

This beautiful quilt was made by Paula to commemorate a Hawaiian vacation. Paula's an expert on stack and whack method of making quilts so she used this on some Hawaiian fabric. She wanted a pantograph which was reminiscent of a plumeria. I think her choice is perfect!

Paula and her husband Ron are also sailors. She made a quilt to use at her camp where they often go sailing. She wanted boats stitched on the top so I tried to make the boats floating on water.

Such fun working on Paula's quilts!

Recent finishes

First is a scrap quilt by Georgia.  She's trying to use up a lot of batik scraps used in other quilts.  The Flourish pantograph was used.

This is another of Geogia's quilts.  She used Diawabo fabrics in the squares.   She wanted a leafy vine running through the squares and large flowers in the floral fabric.

Esther's quilt

This quilt started out slooooowwwwly.  So quick to quilt and so slow to rip!

As soon as I completed all the cross hatching on this block, I realized it was wrong!  See, I had loaded the quilt sideways so I'd save time on rolling.  Didn't realize I'd waste the savings in ripping.  See I stitched the stencil sideways.  The diamond shape should have skinny side pointing to the top of the quilt which is to the left or the right.  Argh!  But after many days, I completed the quilt.

I love this job!

One of the best things about being a longarm quilter is getting to see all the beautiful quilts others have made up close and personal.  Tops I would never dream of making.  This is one of those quilts made by a nonagenarian quilter.  It's so beautiful already.  It will be a pleasure to quilt!

Georgia's Blue Batik Stars

Georgia made this beautiful batik quilt.  I love how the stars twinkle in and out of the lovely fabrics she chose.  It was quilted with the circuit path design.

Kathy's Graduation Quilt

This beautiful quilt was made for Kathy's grandson's graduation from military school.  Kathy got the pattern for this quilt from the Joyful Quilter quilt shop.  They had a veteran's quilt display a couple of months ago and offered patterns for some, maybe all, of the quilts shown.  Isn't her back great too!
